Don Henley. Oddly enough, he has plenty that hasn't been aired. He wrote it because he was hanging out with Patti Davis, Ronald Reagan's daughter, who was estranged from her father at the time, and the political talk show hacks were referring to him as the no talent, former drummer from the Eagles. He fleshed the song out a little more to cover the entire spectrum of how tainted news reports are.

Don Henley from the album "I Can't Stand Still" released in 1982. It was his solo album, not with the Eagles.
