because we keep having to put up with lame, insulting questions like this, perhaps? I tend to ignore ignorance, actually. I wouldn't really consider myself thin-skinned at all.
but, if homophobic straight people can't stand gay people, why don't they just crawl back in their hole?
nice email, dude! you call me a "gay heterophobe who thinks my flatulence doesn't stink".....not hardly!
as I replied....I have lots of straight friends...and my "flatulence" stinks just like anyone elses. I'm very laid back, open-minded and not the least bit stuck up (most of my life I've been exactly the opposite, actually).
don't pass judgment on people you don't know!

I have never found that to be true. In fact with all of the insults gay people have to tolerate from uninformed and homophobic people I think they do well.
If we live our lives and allow other to do the same, we really d very well.
In counseling folks I have found a lot of homophobes have a lot of doubt about their preferences.
No gay person i have worked with has ever tried to make me gay, because you can't. If you are you are if you're not you're not.
I just don't think gay men and women are anymore thinned skinned than the population as a whole and perhaps a lot less so.

Maybe because up to this time there are still many people who are homophobic. And it just makes one's patience run out if you are in a homophobic society.
You can't blame them (although I don't care about what other's really think and I have never been in a situation wherein homosexuality has become a heated issue).

I don't think they're neccessarily thin skinned. I do think that people like Rosie are hippocrites, getting all bent out of shape demanding someone apologize for what she thought they implied, and she get's all stupid on her own show being insensitive to other minorities. What an a$$.

We aren't thin-skinned.....we are just tired of insensitive, ignorant fools like you who think that you were sent to Earth to judge us. Tick us off and feel the backlash!!
Update:
I sent this reply to AngryAmerican when he/she tried to put me in my "place":
Because people like you judge homosexuals without getting to know us. We love another person just like anyone else. We just want the freedom to have that feeling acknowledged in public. What harm does that pose to you???? No one in this world has the right to judge another human being. God chose to send Jesus to earth to die for everyone's sins......what makes you think he would appoint anyone on this earth to judge someone.....I would think that He would be the only being with the true authority to judge anyone!!!

Yeah I agree. You'd think after being born into a lifestyle that isn't going to be welcomed into society, they'd grow a thicker skin.
