Word has a lot more features than Word Perfect. You will also find more people use Word than WP. If you are a student, you can get an educational discount on Office, which can be a huge savings. It has been awhile, but I did it at Amazon and have seen it at Best Buy.

Good luck

I would. I think word is the best word processor out there. These two processors are to different. I would advise you to get word if you plan on doing any of your course work in word at home.

You should get word, legally... Open office is ok i guess, but it sucks in the fact that it takes a large amount of memory to run and it is not near as user friendly as word is. In addition, you can also get packages including other microsoft software if you get word.

Just go download it off of a p2p program for free instead of the outrageous price on it
