You're about the same size as my sister in law. She did fine and had a healthy pregnancy. Just be careful about gaining too much while pregnant because it'll be that much more you'll want to lose. Also, don't diet during your pregnany as this could harm the baby. If you feel you want to lose weight, do so beforehand, or wait until after the baby is born. Breastfeeding will help. I hope you have that baby coming your way!

The best thing for you to do is to go to the doctor and ask what she thinks about it. I weighed 200 lbs when I got pregnant with mine and I gained way too much during my pregnancy and now I am having a hard time losing it. I look back now, and I think I should have thought about my weight before I got pregnant, or at least watched what I ate. I don't think it would hurt you if you watched your weight gain while pregnant. If you get on the WIC program they can help you to do that. And they will also give you milk, eggs, and stuff like that.

There is nothing wrong with being big and having a child. I am about the same weight and height and I had a son DEC 2003. he was perfectly healthy. Just make sure that you go to see you doctor for you appointments. And just because you are big doesn't mean your child will be. Make sure that you give him/her the chance to live a healthy life. Just because I chose to be fat that is my choice. The child does not have that choice. Read books and find out about healthy living at least for the child. I make sure that my son gets a vitamin everyday plus a serving of fruits, meat, bread, milk, cheese. I just can't get him to eat vegetables. That is why I have him on vitamins. Good luck and happy raising.

Having babies can be a health risk for those that are average weight and health...so, you need to ask yourself if you want to take the risk.
As for being overweight, it could possibly make it more difficult for you to conceive. (I had to be put on a diet and take Clomid to help me conceive.)
It can also lead to gestational diabetes (I had this with my 2nd pregancy). But, with proper diet and exercise you can have a good pregnancy and healthy baby.
Yes, there are many things that can go wrong...and having babies isn't exactly safe no matter what your weight...but, for me, the safety/health issues were irrelevant...compared to the reward.

I think you should ask your doctor if it is OK. Gaining weight while pregnant may cause complications if you're too heavy---like gestational diabetes or diabetes that linger after pregnancy. If he says it's OK, try to eat healthy and don't use being pregnant as an excuse to over-eat--many women make that mistake. I, however, know plenty of women who were in your position who are parents, are healthy and gave birth to happy, healthy children. Good Luck!

You can, but try to keep sugar and "Bad carbs" to a minimum. You have a higher chance of developing gestational diabetes. Stick to breads that are whole grains...but no bagels...too dense. Eat little potatoes and rice, and pasta, unless it is whole grain...which is really good. Don't drink juice. Stick to fresh fruit instead. Go for walks or use a treadmill. I actually lost 6 pounds when I first found out I was pregnant because I cut out all junk food.

You're just fine. I gained WAY too much weight during my first pregnancy and they said it was fine. This time around (still overweight) they said its completely safe - just try not to gain as much weight as would be expected from an un-overweight pregnancy. If you're body couldn't handle pregnancy, you probably wouldn't be able to get pregnant in the first place - don't worry - and good luck!

I have an aunt that weighs more than that and she has healthy twin girls. I would just talk to your doctor and go from there.
