Need a 400 chevy crank 3.75" or aftermarket 3.75" and up but I'll stick to the basic stoker 383. Now use the chevy 350 rods 5.7" and matching pistons. The machine shop or yourself will need to notch the block for the long rods.Use the 400 balancer and flywheel, the crankshaft is externally balanced on 400. option would be to have the crankshaft assy. balanced with the 350 balancer and flywheel (cost $250+)

add a 3.75 crank some good matching rods and lifters, i would recommend, since you are gonna be in there, replace stock rockers with aftermarket ones, If you bore it 30 over it will be a 383 stroker, if you do not bore it and you keep the 4 inch bore it will be a 377, 383 sounds better, lol, dont try this with a 2-bolt main, only 4-bolt, it would work on a 2-bolt, just not recommended, after that go with an edlebrock intake with an edlebrock performer series carb, 750cfm, get some hooker headers, some edlebrock heads, and there ya go, you gotta hot rod stroked 350. be careful, lol

You need a stroker crank and pistons . There are a lot of cranks on the market , thats what you really need to pay attention to , which one your getting . There are one or two piece seal cranks , enternal and external balanced , forged / cast iron , lightened , some need to clearence the block and pan / some dont.

If you have to ask, then don't do it yourself.
