I am attending a winter ball and have a full length lacy, beaded gown, is it bad to wear satin ballet-type slippers? My date is short, so heals are out...any other suggestions?

that is perfectly fine, i would never advise flip flops, that is tacky! you can find a number of dress shoes that are flat or nearly flat, i would check out nordstrom's bp section, they have a lot of cute stuff like that right now!

I like the idea of ballet-type slippers. For my first wedding i wanted to be comfortable so I got white satin slippers with leather bottoms. They were wonderful. By not? You see flip flops everywhere now-a-days. They are comfortable too.
Have fun. :)

Yes, you can find satin shoes with a kitten heel. That shoud look fine with the dress since you are already tall. Or you can just go get another dress cause seriously.....It sound like your dress is for a wedding.

Satin slippers are a no. You should look for some clear shoes with a very low heel.

sounds nice and comfy. trust me that will be nice especially when you get out on the dancefloor - no sore feet! I think as long as they natch it won't matter. ppl look at the dress anyways and hardly the shoes. Also your dress sounds long so will it cover the shoes anyway?

If not then I would suggest looking for flats that match your dress.

Have fun!

Maybe you should wear some flat heels. Less than 1 inch. :)

if it is cold in the winter where you are at, you will freeze your tootsies off.
Try some flat pumps instead
