I started my period on Sunday [[new years eve]]
and I used tampons for the first time.
Today, which should be my....6th day? It should be just spotting.
But I went to change my tampon and it was half full.
But like.....all this blood started coming out...like a lot...more than normal and it was BRIGHT red.
So....I put a pad on and didnt put a new tampon in.
What do I do? I'm scared....It's not normal to bleed this much on the 6th day.
Do you think I damnaged something by wearing tampons?
Please help....

Unless you got corked it is more likely than not normal. Wait a couple of days, if still excessive see your doctor.

I'm a nurse. You are fine, this is normal. However just to be on the safe side, continue to use pads for now. Some people when lifting heavy objects and/or strain, will bleed more. If you are soaking pads like one every hour, see a doctor then something is wrong.

No I don't think you could have damaged anything by using a tampon. If you're still fairly young (in your early to mid teens) then your period might just be irregular. It takes a few years for you period to regulate itself. If it keeps on for a week or more, go see your doctor.

You're ok!
Sometimes tampons don't absorb, they block.
It was like a plug.
Use a pad on the remaining days, until it's over.
I only use a tampon on the first two days, and pads on the last few.

first.. tampons for your first period is not advisable. you should be using pads instead. you might have scratched your hymen that's why you bled.
second, even if it's the 6th day, but it's your first time to get a period, it's okay. your body is still trying to regulate your body. you should be regular after a few months, so you're still okay.
and third... congratulations on your period (^.^)

Sometimes you can go over on your period though...if you've been over a week before, I wouldn't worry and also I've been wearing tampons and I don't believe it can damage anything. sorry, just a little advice:\

no, maybe your cycle is changing. you're growing older and your pubescent cycle is starting to wined down. so there you are. maybe things are just "balancing" themselves out. don't worry. if it continues like that for another day though, i'd see a doctor. you don't necessarily have to feel any pain for something to be wrong. being lethargic and having no energy could be a symptom too. (you may feel that way anyway, your iron and hemoglobin might have dropped). i'd see a doctor if it doesn't stop.

I doubt you damaged anything, but if you are in pain you should go to the doctor. Most likely, your period was just heavy.
