Try not to base your actions on other's opinions. You're the only one who knows what's best for you - not parents, family, strangers. If you want (or need) answers, then go for it, if you're comfortable with it - but don't just do it because *he* wants to talk to you. Give it time, relax, and take it step by step. Good luck in making your decision!

Get a number for him and tell him you will call him tomorrow.

Seriously. Do you want a dad that keeps popping in one day every couple of years?

Get the number, wait a month and call him and ask him how it feels to be abandoned. That just might wake him up.

have the conversation and see what he wants. if he's jerking you around then draw a line and tell him that you are not some yo-yo. But if he's wanting to tell you he's sorry, or that he's dying, you'd have one of the bigest regrets any life could have if you didn't see him.

It's sad to say, but you have to be the adult in this relationship.

Talk to him. Ask him why he left. You need answers or you will never be able to move past this.
