No way dude, and if they called it that way, cause they do not understand what death metal music is. Let them see the truth, what you do here is just listening to their music, even their cover art or their lyrics contains the words that make people think that it's something related to the satanic, that's just what they want to express what they want or what they hate. Death metal music is one of the most energic, attractive and brutal music that ever exist in this world, this music really express what the artist's Heart. They express what they like, they hate, they see, they feel then all of that things they do it in their music. There's nothing can compare to the passion of this music. No things.
So please think this way, when your friends said that death metal is devil's music, then your friend's music is ANGEL MUSIC. or GOD's music. Oh please that's just a narrow minded people.

So please keep your music alive dude. cause YOU ARE YOU, and DEATH METAL IS YOUR MUSIC.

Metal is about everything. Death Metal is not "devils music". Show your friends some lyrics from Light This City etc. I dont know any death metal bands with satanic lyrics but Angelina from Arch Enemy was an atheist so some songs by them are about atheism. It's not because she worships satan, it's because metal has lyrics about everything. And btw, the new vocalist of Arch Enemy has good lyrics too, you should check them out. I dont remember her name but she is the one with blue hair :)

for me you first need to ask them about the roots and reasons of their music.Metals root is rocknroll and rock was born with blues and blues is from Mississipi in general.
If you are listening a Metal song saying i fckd that i bought that its garbage like all hiphop lyrics. Metal music have a soul and it still protects itself.
Think about a person, listening metal and sacrificing animals etc. that one maybe a satanist or he\she may be doing it just for fun or for the love of animal blood. and think about a normal guy listening to pop and doing the same behaviours. Why nobody call him as satanist?because hes not listening metal???huh!
if they can understand the difference , they start to understand that not all satanic people love death metal and not all METAL listeners are satanic.

Liking death metal, dark metal, or metal in general is not satanic. if you want to crank up Dimmu Borgir, Samael, or Morbid Angel... go right ahead... I mean, I wear a pentagram but I'm not a devil worshipping "freak".... I see no problem in Metal!... besides Ghetto music is too played out and has a much worse reputation... Ghetto is not my cup of tea.

Well it depends on why u are listening to that kind of music. I believe that if you Just like the way that the music sounds then there is nothing wrong with that. But if you are listening to it for satanic purposes then that's different.That can lead to some bad things and that wouldn't be good for you of anyone.

Just because you listen to the death metal music doesn't make you satanic. If you listen to country it wouldn't make you a hick that's wining about his dead hound dog and his wife leaving him(though most of the time that's the case). or just because you listen to rap that doesn't make you a gangsta .Anyway just because you listen to someone doesn't mean you share their opinions or beliefs.
