Can wilted flowers come back to life in Animal Crossing?

I have wilted flowers in Animal Crossing for Nintendo DS. If I keep watering them will they come back alive, or are they dead for good?

water them and they will be normal again in a while and don't run over them or they'll die for good!

If you water the wilted flowers once, they will be back to life the next day.
