In a supervisory position, you know that you have done a good job if you are able to see the results of your hard work through your staff. Your people know what you expect of them and the work is delegated to them (i.e., you are not doing their work for them).

Well, if they give you the job right away then I would say you've done well. But, if they say we have to interview other people or we'll let you know, then you don't have a chance.

Usually your boss will inform you that you have a done a job well. And you will know if he/she is sincere if you are rewarded or recognized for your accomplishment.

You want to make your boss and company look good. Remember that. If you do, and if you can please them both, you will have done a good job.

I know when I have done a good job when the goals I have set for myself are accomplished and I feel a satifaction in my work.
