Ha! I would. But what about this: Would you be friends with a person from a different sexual orientation? I lost 3 of my best (male) friends when they found out I was gay (I'm a mexican guy, my avatar is a black girl cuz I thought it was funny). One of them told me online that he isn't so homophobic anymore but it's not like he comes to my door to tell me to come outside, we still don't talk. Racism and homophobia are just two of the world's many problems.

The Net is a great equalizer. You don't SEE a person. You just hear the contents of their mind, or sometimes observe the total lack thereof!!!
But you are right! I have seen it happen. It is wrong but it happens. I know that a person's heart and mind are all that matters but many people are too insecure to admit they are NOT "better" than anyone else.

That's too bad. One of my best friends through my twenties and thirties was of a different race. Our families even went on vacations together. A broken marriage and distance made the relationship as it was impossible to continue, but we still stay in touch and talk about our kids. Things won't ever be as they were before, but I treasure the fantastic times we had. My life is richer because of that friendship!

Absolutely. We are all God's people. When I was young in the 40's, this might have been a relevant question. (although it shouldn't have been) Today, it shouldn't be a question at all. Racial prejudice is a form of hatred.
I'm sorry you had some unfortunate internet experiences. There are many ignorant people in this world. Hopefully , in each succeeding generation, we will all become more and more enlightened.

I always have been. I grew up in a mixed neighborhood. The only person I still talk to from the classmates website is of a different race.

Race should not even be a factor. My sister and two brothers are adopted and of other races.I have also had many friends outside my race and dated outside my race many times.I don't even see color, as I have brought up in a multi-ethnic household.I consider myself very fortunate to grow up this way and I am extremely open minded,as an adult.

Of course, it's crazy to consider race in friendships. You sure miss out on a lot of good people when you cut a whole race of people out of your life.

I feel that race should not be a factor in friendship. Unfortunately there are many narrow minded people out there.
