This is my first month off of birth control. (I was on Seasonale-you only get your period every 3 months) I'm not trying really hard to conceive, I just figure I'll let nature take it's course and if it happens, it happens. I don't know my cycle very well since I have been on birth control for 3-4 years. I started my period on Dec. 11 which would make my ovulation day 12/25. (if I have a 28 day cycle) I had intercourse 12/18 and 12/23. My nipples have been slightly tender to the touch for the last week or so. Starting today I've had a very small amount of brownish discharge. I'm wondering if this is implantation bleeding? Would this be about the right time for that if I was pregnant? And when would a HPT be accurate?

After stopping any kind of birth control that changes your periods (Seasonale and the Depo shot, in particular), it will take some time for your period to return to its normal state. This means you could have some spotting, lighter periods, and periods when you don't expect them.

Even so, since you're not protected by the birth control anymore, there's always a chance of pregnancy. A HPT is accurate if taken the day you expected to get your period (so probably a few days from now).

Hope this helps! =)

When you have sex, pregnancy is always a possibility.
Seasonale did some weird things to my mind and body, so I switched to Tri-Sprintec and my period was a full week late.
The spotting you're experiencing may just be your body's hormones adjusting to coming off of the pill.

The best time to take a pregnancy test is 5-7 days after your missed period.
Good luck!
