The timer is most likely bad. Since it stays in the cool down and does not advance to off there may be a problem with the temperature selector switch. It is difficult to speculate about an exact cause without knowing the make and model number. If you want you can click on my name and contact me with the make and a complete model number and I will be glad to assist.

If timer isn't advancing to off based variety and 3 hundred and sixty 5 days there are resistors appropriate next to timer which will reason timer to not strengthen, or no remember if it incredibly is advancing in the process the off place into next cycle it is the push to commence change. good success

yes it sounds like the timer is not advancing.
No, you can't start a fire, as the dryer has high limit switches.

Maybe it's a "press-saver" feature. It keeps tumbling the clothes with no heat to prevent wrinkles. (just a guess)

your dryer is possessed by the devil. Disconnect it, pull it out of the laundry room, and throw it outside. If you get it out side before your dryer attacks and eats you whole, burn it. Oh, wear rubber shoes
