A strange question but...yes, they do. Frequently. It makes the friction much less when they swing their arms while running, and helps them avoid underarm rash.
Also. when they pump their arms at the camera, they wanna look well-kept in the armpit ;-)

Some basketball player wax/shave their entire bodies. Some just shave their armpits and some don't shave anything at all. Me personally? I do shave my armpits but I don't shave anything else. Like a pervious answerer said, I'll say it again. I sweat less, deoderant is easier to put on, deoderant lasts longer and there's less friction when I run or do anything that involves my shoulders and rotator cuff.

LOL this is the type of question you ask yourself. no one is going to tell you that they shave/don't shave their pits. A yes or no = generalized answer. The answer is different for everyone. personally, i would shave my pits as a basketball player b/c it would have a lighter feel around my pit-area. (that's just me lol I'm not going to ask other people about it)

I shave my arm pits. Starting doing so several years ago and never stopped. makes it much easier to put on deodorant so I sweet less.

Some do yes, it is to prevent the amount of sweat produced and believe me its much sexier when they are shaved

I'll assume you mean men. Not usually. I did once know a guy who trimmed though. And my opne guy friend shaves his arms...but I don't know why

No, their body is smart enough to know that they will play basketball so hair doesn't grow there
