I agree with you, Elton John's songs are amazing! I also think Debbie Harry is very talented, I love her songs too. She was/is a great singer and songwriter.

i am a writer myself, i write poetry and songwriters are poets, exept they have to be even more talented to put them into music.
for me the best songwriter is Amy Lee from Evanescnce, she writes beautifuly. i also like jimi hendrix's words, they actually have alot of deep beautiful meaning, and that is what makes good music. : ) definitley a thumbs up question!
