I would love to hear from Cuban-Americans from the age of 35 or younger. We all already know what the old crow think.

my husband is a Cuban-American and he is 33yrs old. He thinks the Embargo is an awful thing for Cubans. It really has done no good except hurt the people of Cuba. As far as it being a "good" thing for Americans... well it doesn't really affect anyone here except for the fact that you can't travel freely, you can't send money or buy anything in Cuba, etc. Other than "tourism" it doesn't affect America at all. His entire family is still in Cuba and his mother suffers from severe Asthma.. they do have free medical treatment ( unlike the US) but here is the good part... there is NO medicine... we have to send her money and they convert it to Castro's new (monopoly money) taking 20% then because she has a family member who works in a pharmacy she gets what little medicine she can.. She is only 52 and she has an enlarged heart, cannot have an operation because of how thin her blood is from steroids, osteoporosis, etc. We send her everything we can, through other countries, etc, and we are going in July as a family to visit. My children have never met their Grandparents as it is not very easy to just pick up an go from the US. This may be the last chance they get to meet her with the way her heath is going. The Embargo has done nothing to Castro, he still lines his pockets. The people who really suffer are the citizens of the country.

It is BAD for American's...you are missing out on a beautiful country.

It is GOOD for Canadians...Cuba has stayed Cuban and is not Americanized like every other country seemingly on this earth. As well, there are no Americans (unless they came through the back door...some 80,000 come every year illegally) so the trip for Canadians is more peaceful.

If anything the embargo is taken too far! I read yesterday in the Globe and Mail that a hotel now owned by Hilton in Europe cancelled the reservations of a dozen or so Cubans that were to be there for a conference...just because the Hotel is owned by and American Chain but is located in Europe...hmmm...that's crazy. Many workers have been protesting the hotels decision.

I think the American embargo on Cuba is crazy, had it not existed I think inter action with Cuba would have spelled the end of Castro years ago.

Cuba is a beautiful country and the people are very kind and caring. Its a loss to the American's that they can't travel to Cuba legally.
