WIC gives you checks that you can use in the grocery store to purchase formula, cereal, milk and things like that. It also depends on how old your baby is and if you are breastfeeding or bottle feeding or both. They can give you carrots, tuna if you are breastfeeding. They are also a resource if you are needing to find a job or just need to talk. They are much friendlier than DES. :)

WIC will give you a check that lists certain food items on it. These items can include, formula, infant cereal, regular cereal, juice, milk, peanut butter, eggs, tuna, and cheese. It varies on location. No, they do not help with prenatal care. If you qualify for wic you probably will qualify for state aid in that area as well. Call your local courthouse for more information.

Coupons to use at the grocery store for very specific items. YOu get a coupon for every week...two months worth at a time. They are different every week...slightly. For instance, this week I will use the coupon that has 2 gallons of milk, 1 container of juice, 1 carton of eggs. Then next week I will use the 1 gallon of milk, 2 things of juice, 1 jar of peanut butter coupon...they change every week. But every month in this state I get, 5 gallons of milk, 6 things of juice (juicy juice brand usually), a carton of eggs (maybe two), a jar of peanut butter (Jif is okay), cheese (store brand is usually all you can get)...and I think that is it...oh, and 36 ounces of cereal...but only the bland boring ones...grapenuts is about the best...or total.
***They definitely do not help with bills. THey'll give you coupons, make you take a breastfeeding class, offer you lactaction consultants, then when the baby is born, they will measure them, check them to the standards, etc***. But it is about nutrition...not for money or bills!

while your pregnant WIC gives you these check type once a month, its for milk, eggs, cheese, juice and other stuff. you tell them what you want, you dont get to choose all the stuff but between somethings you can. they dont give you money and they arnt like food stamps pretty much like checks. but you can only get certain brands and stuff that they tell you that they can.
also when your baby is born, if you breastfeed they give you stuff for you, like juice and milk and veggies and stuff. but if you dont plan to breastfeed then they will give you baby formula and stuff like that for the baby.... its a really big life saver if your needing help with family stuff. my sister in law was on it and she is a single parent and it helped her alot.
they dont pay any prenatal stuff though.

here in NC, you have to apply for food stamps and then they approve you or not. WIC gives you vouchers for formula, cereal, veggies, juice and other nutritional items that YOU need to "recover" and regain your health after having a baby. its a great thing to look into, especially if youve been working your *** off and been paying taxes and want to actually see what youve worked for. hope this helps!

Wic gives you food but only what is on your checks. While you are pregnant you get milk cheese, cereal, juice, and eggs. After baby is born you get infant formula, they are very precise about what you can get. like for milk, if your check says 2% that is all you can get.

The will give you a voucher to take to the grocery store. on the back of the voucher it lists what types of foods are acceptable (Kix cereal is acceptable for instance....Count Chocula is not) on the front it will clearly state what you are allowed to buy (this depends on your needs and the baby's needs and the baby's age) Present it to the check out person.
