There are two ways to look at it....in the playoffs defense is important...but you can not win if you don't score....plan and simple. On the other hand, most people agree defense wins championships. I personally think that a good offense and a solid defense will beat a great defense and a so so offense 95 out of a 100 times and the playoffs are just a series of single games....So I would have to say an offense is more important than a defense in the playoffs.

Definitely,
the Offense isn't enough because if u don't have a D. then your offense cant get the ball and if the other team has a good defense then they will about always stop u from scoring and that will get the ball to their offense, which will score
so that's why the defense is very important in the playoffs, especially in these past couple of years, its very important.
BUT THE PROBLEM IS THAT THERE IS NOT TOO GOOD DEFENSES IN THE LEAGUE RIGHT NOW , OR THEY'RE ALL BEATEN UP AND INJURED.

Both offense & defense is important, but I think that defense is more important, because you need to be able to stop the other team from scoring so you can win, because in the playoffs, you lose your season is done.

In today's game, BOTH are important. Everyone is so equal that if you have more of something than someone else, then you have the edge on them. If I had a good answer to give you, then I would point out that offense is a little more important b/c it offsets the defense's performance i.e. look at the Colts and where they're at.

Of course, that's why they say "Defense wins Championships". Because on defense, you can stop the other team from scoring AND you can still score points yourself. On offense, all you can do is try to score points.

DEF is slightly more important than offense (60% to 40%). With only offense, the opposing team will keep on scoring and if you have a turnover or you have to punt, then you are lost!! If you have a superb DEF like the Ravens, then you can score on your opponent's time too! (INT, Fumble Recovery, Kickoff/Punt Return TDs.

Absolutely. To Quote Paul "Bear" Bryant, "There are more ways to score on Defense than Offense."
