Rather than write a speech about lofty subjects that affect the world, why not go a different direction and write a speech about one of the following.

1. A person you know that did something special and the impact that had on your life. (saved another person's life, taught another person how to read, protected a person being robbed, acted as a role model for people in your neighborhood, mentored kids and encouraged them to get out of gangs, off drugs, and into positive activities).
2. An event that meant a lot to you and from which you draw encouragement and strength. (a great vacation you took where you learned about people in other walks of life, a crusade you attended that changed your life, a youth event that introduced you to new principles, a summer camp you attended that helped you mature into a new person).
3. A product that has impacted lives in a major way. (computers, telephones, automobiles, airplanes, hair dryers, curling irons).
4. A famous person who makes a difference in the world and why the world is a better place because they lived.
5. A movie that really means a lot to you and why. Perhaps the lessons hit so close to home that you have changed your way of life as a result.
6. News articles that speak to you in such a way that you want to go into that area for a life's work. (the great floods or tsunami's of the past few years, the major earthquakes in parts of the world, the wars that are being fought on every continent except Antartica, medicine in third world countries, poverty).
7. Homelessness and ways we can go about changing that issue in the US.
8. Depression, loneliness, and fear in the USA.
9. Immigration reform, what it is, why we need it, and what can be done about it.

Overpopulation

While approaching the twentieth century, there was a noticeable increase in world’s population that alarmed many leaders. Study shows that tremendous growth in populace can hinder the nation’s economic development. Report disclosed that this will affect the undeveloped countries but also industrialized and developing countries.

To begin with, the government is facing various problems and constraints to the country’s development cause by abrupt escalation of population. Basically, it has to work hard to meet and render the fundamental services for the people. The necessary and basic needs are depreciating in urban areas but limited and inadequate services are provided in rural and remote areas. And because of insufficient and scarce resources the nutritional requirements of the family are also not properly address.

In addition, free education is hardly given by the government and most of the time its quality is not given considerable attention. Public library is not sufficiently equipped with learning materials to give students some alternative to have better education.

Moreover, significant increase in unemployment rate is also attributable to population growth. Study also reveals that most employed individual is receiving salary that is incapable of providing the basic necessities.

Clean and green environment, peace and order situation are a common problems caused by overpopulation. The government is providing a big portion of the annual budget to control cleanliness and orderliness, not mention the left and right insurgency problem in the case of our country.

Overpopulation is not a problem of the state alone but by the family. So, the family being the first affected by this crisis must have a careful planning of its family. And since leaders are introducing various ways to control it, it is the duty of the people to cooperate. All the benefits of having a controlled population growth will revert back to each individual.

Studying the English Language

Studying the English language in an English speaking country is the best. It can help a lot in pursue of it aside from the many advantages. However, there are various ways of learning and acquiring the knowledge of English correctly.

To begin with, students taking it abroad have a broad and greater exposure to it. The natives in English speaking country definitely posses the good communication skill in all aspects. Daily use and practice in this environment can make the Non-English speaking students obtain the language properly. Reading and visual aids are readily available at a minimal cost.

On the other hand, a person can have the skill if it is given quality time and serious effort to learn it. The students will not worry about the fare, accommodation and other cost of living and being a stranger is somewhat one has to consider. Likewise, parents and siblings will also have the comfort and peace of mind. Besides, it is less stressful and the students can concentrate on the study while with the family and friends.

Moreover, international and other foreign schools are branching out and expanding its operation to locals. Also, affiliates and branches of overseas companies are regularly conducting seminars and trainings to enhance the ability of its local staff. Book stores are also improving – variety of study materials are on display and available to the public – but more often than not, confusing.

As a rule, skill is not gained overnight. It takes a long process to have it. Students must consider the study of the language as a challenge rather than a burden. Dedication and practice will make a person obtain the confidence and expertise of the language.

One of my favorite topics to talk and debate about was the Kennedy assassination.Look up the oposing view points, was it a conspiracy, or wasn't it? Was it really Lee Harvey Oswald in the building or an imposter? Who could have planned it if it was a conspiracy? If it wasn't a conspiracy, why do you think L.H.O. did it? I always found that interesting, look into it, you might be surprised as to what you find!

Don't worry about your topic to much. The easiest way to write a speech is to pick something that actually interests you. The research and the work is much easier that way.

Mention specific things your teacher has done and how it has helped you. For example: "Many of us remember the way you organised the work experience program. We know it was a lot of work for you and we really appreciate the effort." "One thing we all loved is the way you always made jokes and told stories, and made us laugh. The story about your trip to Africa will remain in our memories for all time." "I think what impressed us most was that you didn't take your job as just a duty but as a happy time in your life. We know that you are a professional teacher, but we also felt that you cared for us and did your utmost to help us."

DO NOT EVER WRITE OUT A SPEECH - Tell your teacher to go to heck, get walloped by the principal or your parents, but don't go to that dumb class!

Always speak from within yourself, from your own heart in the moment, with spontaneity. Most people won't understand this.

Write about whether stem cell research really holds all the promises for cures that proponents claim, or if the claims are all hyped.

With only two days to have it ready, something you have to research is probably not realistic. Think of something you have a passion for and speak to that because it is something that you already know well feel comfortable with.
