How can I make a smooth transition from my powerful chest voice to my lighter head voice? Like as soon as i get to an F it changes and it sounds like 2 completely different ppl. Thanks soo much for any help!!! :-)

i do this too, but it helps if you sing in the middle. if you try and jump straight two octaves it's gonna sound wierd. if you do a scale of sorts, and sing in the middle, the transition is far easier.

My voice coach said that a lot of people think they have to use a falsetto or "head" voice to sing higher ranges. He says this is a huge mistake and I agree that singing from the mask is a choice. Practice parting your pectorals while singing the higher range. You can do this by getting on the floor in a "push up" position or taking a similar position against the wall while singing in your upper register.

Try to slow yourself down when you want to change. Slowly release any extra air you have as best as you can so the change will sound normal. Keep singing when you try this. Good luck and good singing. Singing rocks!!!
