Yes I have put worms on fish hooks before. My son went fishing with my cousin once when he was little and he couldn't get the worms on the hook. He noticed that she was using bigger worms and told her that she gave him the generic worms. She said she almost fell out of the boat laughing.

Do it all the time since I love fishing. Even put leaches, insects, and other little fishes on my hooks.
