everytime i restart or try to turn on my computer, it brings up a blue screen saying registry error. No new hardware nor software has been installed considering we just use the computer for games and internet. As far as viruses...I dunno. I just want to know if there is a way of fixing this problem that is effective, or if i should just get a new harddrive?

You have to take the computer to a service center. This requires a repair of the Operating System which could be very complicated.

I assume you are running Widows xp.
Boot the computer and while it is coming up, press the 'F8' key. That will get you into safe mode.
If it boots okay then, it will probably give you the same registry error, but will (or should) run the registry repair program.
Once it does you can then reboot in normal mode again.
