Volcanoes exist because of geothermal heat created during the aggregation of our planet. However, as that heat is continuing to be expelled, the earth is constantly cooling and one day the geothermal heat will run out and the earth will begin to solidify. When this happens, volcanoes will cease and eventually the liquid outer-core of earth will solidify, which will eliminate the electo-magnetic field created by the molten metal in motion and then, we are all in big trouble as the electro-magnetic field is the force protecting us from cosmic radiation which would otherwise burn the surface of the earth so that no life could live. Take a look at some of the other planets and moons in the solar system as many are small enough to have already cooled, and there you can see the future of the earth without volcanoes.
Sorry, that got a little long-winded, long term, the end of life, short term loss of productivity in volcanic soils (very rich in minerals) and no more fun volcanoes to watch.

submarine volcanoes created an environment in which hole new species evolved, very different from what we are used to.

other volcanoes are main source of pollution, far bigger then as, but in this way heavy elements are brought to surface.
