i've been trying to find out but i couldn't. i have a WINDOWS XP.

right click on the desktop and go 2 properties, or go 2 the control panel and go 2 display.
click on screensaver in the display properties... click on power, u will see system standby which is wat u r lookin for, change these settings around, i usually let my hard drives spin (healthier for the drive), which means i never turn em off, my monitor goes off after 20 min. and i dont have system standby on.

Right-click on Desktop
Choose Properties
Click on Screensaver
Click on the Power Button

Or

Click on Power Options in the Control Panel

Start > Control Panel > Power Options > Power Schemes >

Set the power scheme for the computer type then set the Settings for you the computer type for "Turn off Monitor", "Turn Off Hard Disks" and "System Standby".

Right click your desktop, press properties, then screen saver, then Power, and finally change the settings under System standby and System hibernates. Hope that helps.

ok right click on desktop, click on properties, click in screen saver tab, click power button, on the power schemes tab you'll see a list of settings, click the dropdown list of system standby or hibernates and select whatever you want. click ok ok ok.

follow these steps
start - control panel - display - screen saver (tab) - power button at the bottom - pwer scheems (tab)

or you can right click anywere on the back ground of you desk top then hit propreties then
screen saver (tab) - power button at the bottom - pwer scheems (tab)

okay, go to the battery in the top top, right hand corner,hey, you have windows, never mind, i am the proud mommy of a MAC, thank you verry much.
throw it away and get a mac, that is the answer to all your problems.
