The PS3 has backwards compatibility with the PS2, so if the money isn't a problem, get the PS3 instead of the PS2.

Ive heard consumer reports that the ps3 was a bad gaming system and it broke for like 100 or more people who got it and ps2 has alot of high ratings and good games

Although ps3 has cool graphics those stupid lags and glitches i hate them and the games are $60......i can buy like 2 ps2 games with that but its your decision.

i have both and they are the same pretty much but the ps3 has better draphics and is way more up to date in technology

PS3, and you don't need a HD TV to play it. I have a PS3 and not an HD TV, and it works perfectly fine.
