um im assuming ur talking abotut he cult leader. but yeha if u are he was a cult leader in the 1970's-80's (around there) and bought land and made his followers come and life with him, he called it jones town. he held 'whitenights' were his people were drinking a liquid and in actualy fact were practicing (with out thier knowledge) thier suicides. when a government official came to have a tour around the compound and took some people who no longer wished to be there back to 'civilisation' jim jones saw that he was loseing power over his people and went and started shooting at the plane which was leaving with some of his people.
when he left after the shooting (which i think did get to escape) jim jones went back to his peopel to run another white night except this time it wasn't a rehershal, he had put vallium and another chemical into the flavouraid and murdered all the peole that were left and himself as well.
its was really sad for me to read all of it and look at the pictures of masses and masses of peole lying dead.
yeah this is jsut really brief but u can easily find out heaps more by googleing or something.
