I am a 21 year old guy who recently took a trip to vegas where a visited a legal brothel in which I lost my virginity. I am very open about it, with some help of a couple of loud mouth co-workers, but get mixed reactions from the females, the guys think it's cool, you know the "No Attachments" point of view, but the ladies seem to think its a little awkward. What do you think?

There seems to be a large amount of people here concerned with STD's but let me reiterate that this was a legal brothel in which the women are tested weekly and the sex is protected.

Everyone makes choices, and it's not my place to judge. But since you asked I'll be frank about it, I would be disappointed in you.
I think your body should only be given in the bounds of a long term and loving relationship. Sex is sex, and sex is fun. Sex is for the sake of sex is over-rated. But there is nothing like making love, it has everything sex has but double. Making love is way UNDER-rated.
You've gone through the mechanics of physical pleasure, but that will teach you nothing in the long run. True physical pleasure stems from the brain out through the body. When you gave yourself to the prostitute you were nothing more than a rutting animal. (That's not sexy nor desirable.)

When it all comes down to it, it is you who should decide whether or not its akward. That's my standpoint.
But a generalized female perspective, whether they are willing to admit it or not, is that yes, it is akward because of the nature of their profession. With AIDS and all of the other nasty diseases out there, one cannot help but be concerned.
Virginity has a certain stigma attached to it, being that it is supposed to be "sacred" and held in high regard--thats how most girls feel and to lose it to someone who arbitrarily "gives it up" deems them as one who also has no "morals".
Personally, I think that the whole stigma attached to virginity is b.s. but I'm just telling you from a generalized point of view. Hope that helps. I'm sure you'll hear it again. LOL.

Hey to each his own. I am not here to judge you at all. No one has the right to talk about or judge you because if given the same chance believe me they would have done it too and if they say they wouldn't have they are lying. Don't get me wrong there are some people such as myself who would not sleep with a prostitue but again to each his own. If you were happy then thats all that matters.

I would find it to be a very big turn off. There is a certain stigma attached to prostitutes and it's kind of gross to be with one.

what you did was stupid, you should have waited untill you could share that moment with someone special in your life, not just easily gave it way to some prostitute that you had to pay, there are diseases out there and there is no telling what you could have contracted just to lose your virginity....
