What do you think of the name Amanda? What kind of person do you think this name would fit? I'm asking because it's my name, and one of my friends names =).

I think it's a pretty name, but I think it's become over used.
A little off topic, but... My aunt loved the name Amanda, so when she and her husband decided to get a dog before they had children, she named the dog Amanda. A few years later, they had a little girl. And my aunt named her Amanda and started calling the dog Mandy. How much would that suck to grow up thinking you were named after the family dog?!

Personally, I like the name Amanda, but it's a common enough name that it doesn't really have a "type," I think.

One of my best friends was named Amanda. I used to call her Salamanda all the time.
It's good because it's NORMAL, which is rare these days!

I love the name Amanda. It is a lovely name for a girl and can transition well from childhood to adult. It is a graceful, classic, pretty and gender specific girl's name. And it goes well with a variety of middle names.

I really don't like this name, sorry. I have always known Amanda's to be snooty, bratty, etc. It was very popular in teh 80's and early 90's.....I just hear it so much!

It's a pretty name. Very pretty. It is a little too popular for my liking though. I don't like too off-the-wall names like Crinshaw, but I like things like Skye, Corrin, and Lucy.
