My 3 best friends in my highschool, aron, john, and carlos are in a very bad situation. My friends girlfriend(carlos's) gf broke up with him becuase she likes aron. Carlos now hates aron and john. John like to be around carlos's ex and wants to get with her and my other friends are annoyed by that. My question is, who should i hang out with? Carlos is a cool dude, we can have serious conversations. John takes nothing i say seriously( i have the rep of i funny guy at times, and a few people mistake that for stupitity)And aron is in the middle, he(somtimes takes me seriously). Who do you think i should choose to hang out with, ill still be friends with all of them, but whomever i choose, my realashonship with the others will be damaged and we will prob not have our status as usual best friends. I like to be taken seriously, but i also like to be funny, and i enjoy the persons company who can respect both of that.

We are also on different popularity scales. Carlos being the lowest, me and john in the middle and aron at the highest. But being popular sucks i think...

That is difficult isn't it, but simplify the situation by saying" Guys I am friends with all of you, and I don't want to argue about who killed who?" ha ha and definately the girlfriend thing is out. That seems to get in the way of many relationships, the who cheated on who thing or who is more popular? Who cares? Do you have fun? That is the basis of your relationship is you are compatible. So tell them that exactly, I want to have a relationship with all of you and no friction or we will have to part ways for a while till we can have fun like we used to, sharing good conversations, or sports, or what ever. You will then find out who is your friend then with honesty. A friend in need is a friend indeed. and in this case you are the friend in need because you are in the middle, and don't let anyone play monkey in the middle with you be your own man.

You were friends with all three of them before Carlos girlf broke up with him, right? Well, I would still be friends with all three of them, but I would talk to each one of them and explain that you are still friends with all of them, and that you understand that they feel the way that they do, and know that it is a very difficult thing to be going through. You should not be expected to feel negative toward someone who is your friend because it is not you who has the reason to be upset with that person. (I hope this is making some sort of sense.) Let them know that you respect how they feel, and hopefully they can respect how you feel. Good luck with this one... I know these type of situations are very difficult...
And by the way, as far as the guy who is trying to hook up with Carlos gf, I would make sure that you let it be known that you do not condone his behavior, but you are not going to be judgemental to anyone. (that is, if this is how you feel).
Basically, just do what you know is the right thing to do and you will gain the respect of the friends who are worth having as friends, the others, well... you don't need those kind of people around ya anyway...

You should probably sit all of them down together and talk about it so you wouldn't have to choose. If you like both friends then keep them both.
