She obviously doesn't care. The rhythm is in you, you just have to find the beat. If she is teaching you then that's good just give it time and listen to the sound of the music. Everything has a pattern ESPECIALLY music. Here is some help...

Beats are the hit of the Bass or what you bop ur head to.
you count to it 1,2,3,4.... so on

Hip-hop has 4 beats at 8 beats is a crash or cymbal or a change at 16 their is another instrument hit.
same with Reggae and Reggaeton.

Techno is 8 beats with a new sound added every 16

Classical is a bit more complicated. Usually the beats change depending on the instrument added and the emotion.

practice to this song Its trance but it will give you a general idea of what a beat is

Time - Benny bennassi

count the beat until you are comfortable.
Then tap your feet.
Tap you fingers.
and as long as it is consistent you've got the ability to at least sway to the beat until you have enough confidence to move your body to the beat to create dance.

Yes! But don't really worry. I am real crappy at dancing fast and my wife doesn't seem to care. But, I'm good at slow dancing and it's the slow, romantic songs you really need to be able to do. If you can do that much, she will know you are at least trying. It's easy. All you do is stand there and sway back and forth. Good luck.

no; im a dancer and i just kind of find it kind of funny/cute when guys cant dance. (sorry, if you dont like to be called cute)
so its fine, well, as long as you can at least stay with the beat of the music, which isnt hard.

Hey! if she is teaching you the steps,at least try to learn a few simple steps and I'm sure it is not difficult. If u just try to learn by concentrating on what she teaches u,I'm absolutely sure..she'll not care.and u too should not worry about the formal.
CHILLLLLL.

No matter what type of school you go to school is for learning. So learn how to dance while you have the chance.

I think you could do a slow dance or two even though you say you can't dance.

That will probably make her very happy.

it does not matter if she cares, you should care...go for lessons, she cannot teach you but a paid pro can (meaning someone you do not know)

If she really cares about you then it doesn't matter if you can dance or not.
