25% because you have to do 5-4=1 then divide the one by 4...equals 25% increase. You always divide the subtracted number by the first number in the order...like 4$ to 5$ the 4 is first so...Oh ya, if it the numbers are getting larger than it is always an increase if it goes lower like..9 to 4 then that would be a decrease. you have to first subtract the original amount from the final amount to find the amount of increase.
$5 - $4 = $1
Next divide that number by the original amount to compare the amount of change with the original amount.
$1 / $4 = .25
Then convert to percent to answer the question.
