What Percent Increase

2016-11-14 07:21:54 · answer #2 · answered by alterma 4 · 0 0

25% because you have to do 5-4=1 then divide the one by 4...equals 25% increase. You always divide the subtracted number by the first number in the order...like 4$ to 5$ the 4 is first so...Oh ya, if it the numbers are getting larger than it is always an increase if it goes lower like..9 to 4 then that would be a decrease. I hope this helps you better to learn on this matter.

25% because a full 100% increase would mean another $4 dollars, whereas you are only 1/4 of the way there!

2007-01-05 15:59:28 · answer #9 · answered by Anonymous · 0 0

you have to first subtract the original amount from the final amount to find the amount of increase.

$5 - $4 = $1

Next divide that number by the original amount to compare the amount of change with the original amount.

$1 / $4 = .25

Then convert to percent to answer the question.

.25=25/100=25%

Good luck!
