I saw a Pizza Hut commercial which specifically used the Papa John's logo, as well as Domino's, and those respective companies' fonts. This is the case for Pepsi and Coke as well. So, why then, is this OK, but TV shows have to use obvious pseudonyms like "Roke" or "Fountain Dew"?

The laws are complex.

However, it is proper for competitors to mention their competition by name... and generally you'll see the legalese down below stating the copyright info.

The TV shows could in fact use the real name, but if they defame the products (slander) then they'd be in for a lawsuit -- you gotta have evidence that what you're saying is right, and parody/satire doesn't cut it. Besides, who would want to honk off a potential advertiser?
