The settings are too high..try starting in safemode-F8- and see if you can lower them there..otherwise, attach a newer monitor, and lower them, then reattach yours.

Sounds like a weird issue with the horizontal and vertical refresh rates. The computer probalby works fine, the problem is with the display.

maybe you can borrow someone elses newer monitor and hook it up and change your display settings

I think your display settings are too high for the old montor you are using.

Lower the display settings, then hook your monitor back up.
