Check with your high school guidance counselor's office ... I worked through school with jobs that were phoned in from local employers. Don't think anything is beneath you... consider retail sales, fast food, office work, cleaning, or whatever you can get. Usually the jobs that the school learns of are given to those who ask for them and not publicized. ASK!!!

If you want to do fast food that is fine, but maybe you should think about things you enjoy doing and start there. Perhaps if you enjoy math and people, you could try your local bank branch and see about a parttime position there. Or if you like to write, try the local newspaper. Also hospitals often have little weekend jobs. The others would be retail, like a drugstore and clothing store. Some places like Dillards even have live models in their stores.

First of all, work on your resume and make it an excellent one to get job, which suits your interest. You should take the help of consultant to make an attractive resume. Then You should submit your resume to leading jobsite like www.monster.com, www.careerbuilder.com. Also you should consult local placement consultant in your area. In the meantime, look out for an option to work online. Although it wont pay you like full time job but you can make extra cash in your spare time. I am a part time worker doing work online at home, so I would like to share a link where you can make $600-$1500 in a month working at home. The work need to be done is posting/answering a discussion and uploading any photo/image of your interest. For details visit

I will publish few more genuine site in couple of weeks, where you can earn money. You may also write to me at talkofmoney@rediffmail.com (Note: When u are planning for a home based online work, be careful because most of them are scam and ask you to pay initial money. never pay money to any such site.)

Apply to jobs at fast food places, grocery stores, restaurants, retail stores, movie theaters, etc. Those are probably not your ideal jobs, but it is difficult to get a great job without having any prior job experience. Once you get your foot in the door, it will be much easier finding a second job that you enjoy more later on.

Apply absolutely everywhere. Then call the places that you've applied to and say, Hi, I turned in an application and was wondering when I could come in for an interview. It show that you really WANT the job. Be proactive, personable, and reliable.
Big points for being on time to the interview, well-dressed, and not using words like, like, uh, yanno.
Bigger points for being on time and actually working when you do get a job. ;)

Have you considered selling some of your things or making some thing to sale on Ebay. If you can get your parents approval and have them setup an account for you. You can make some extra money for now untill you find a job.

Find yourself. What do you really wanna be.

Then find the work you want to be and work for free for a week. If you have potential you will probably get a paid job there. Thats what I did.

disregard the stripclub/ escort idea from the other member. fast food may be good or an internship. The internship may not pay now, but may help you find a career you like.
