I need a cool fact about the hypothalamus,besides the functions, something that will make u say wow, i didnt know it did that. also, can you tell me what happens if it doesnt work right in someone. -disfunction.

When people dream there is high activity in the hypothalamus which is connected to emotions and motivations. People that wake up during dreams usually report feeling an emotion such as happiness, surprise, anger, or anxiety. I think thats pretty fascinating! If the hypothalamus does not function properly or is damaged it leads to abnormalities in one or more motivated behaviors, such as feeding, drinking, temperature regulation, sexual behavior, fighting, or activity level.
