Love is a word.
The Emotion is what is needed to portray what it is to one person. While a serial killer may think love is the act of taking someone life, others think that love is the need to have someone dependent on you. Love is the word in the dictionary with the most definitions because it's intangible. It's more of a emotion, feeling, or state of mind. Some people can tell you that they love someone until they do something wrong. That wouldn't be love it would be a strong feeling far from love. Some people believe love is being hit by their partner's. That would be an excuse far from love.

Love would be something that can't be talked about in general. When a person truly falls in love they don't count on what they love about a person to make them happy because, over time a person might change and lose those traits. While others like the fact that people change they wait for those changes but, when those changes don't come soon enough they start to fall in and out of "love" in an instant.

Humans are based on urges that's origin cannot be understood. Love being one of them.

Without defining what "love" is, I'd say there is three types of love:
- the one you naturally feel toward your family members
- the one you develop for someone (boyfriend or girlfriend)
- and the one Jesus and Buddha probably thought about: compassionate love for mankind.

and based on my experience, I'd describe love like a undefectible feeling you have for someones / someone / the mankind, which materialises through a soft but constant heat in your heart. You can't do anything about it, it's there, throughout the time and life. Not to be confused with passion, or attraction, or simply appreciation. Love is much deeper and stable.

Baby don't hurt me...don't hurt me...no more!

Sorry, couldn't resist that...

um...

special bond...? type...thing?

I see so many people in my High School taking what they believe is "love" so lightly that it makes me sick. I, for one, am not going to lie to myself and pretend I've felt it.

But what I think it might be is a bond that overcomes anything. Knowing that nothing will keep you apart. Sounds corny, but here's where it becomes kind of un-corny.

It's also my hypothesis of why there are so many divorces these days...people are seriously getting married JUST for the sake of being married! They don't even know if they love eachother yet! Sure, they can say they do as much as they want, but it might not even mean anything!

All in all, I don't think anyone will really be able to tell you what it is...I probably wasn't much help either, since I kind of just ranted ^_^"

Love, I believe, is anything you can make it out to be. It is an abstract thought that is up to you. You may say love at first site, someone may say thats rediculous but that doesnt mean anyone is right or wrong, they both may be right in their own understanding of the word "love"
