More than likely its an ignition misfire. Probably a plug wire. Does it do it usually when pulling a very slight hill under a consistant light throttle? Thats an almost sure sign. Also pull the plug wires one by one off of each coil pack and look for corosion. That is typical of those delco coil packs. I have fixed more "transmission problems" with plugs and wires than I can count.

This sounds more like a motor misfire than a trans. problem. To start to check, remove plug wires one by one and inpsect the metal connection inside the plug wire for signs of either corrosion or carbon tracking. Some of these wires have a heat shield on the outside of the boot at the plug end. Remove these boots to see if the insulator has cracked as well. Inspect every wire for this along with the coil tower and/or dist. cap wire towers. If you find something like this, replace the complete set of plug wires and make sure you re-use the heat shields as they protect the wire's insulator. If you don't find anything, remove all spark plugs to see if you have any carbon tracking down the ceramics. This appears as a black lightening bolt, sort of. If nothing was found, check through the on board diagnostics for the PCM as something will usually set and that will be a clue where to continue diagnosing. Good luck.

i mechanic for a living,,and it may be an engine miss-fire,,do you know that flushing out a transmission can cause it to go out,if its not done right,,it can also damage the seals in it,also, and this may create a jerk in it,,i don't know how many miles you have on it,,but I'm pretty sure it might not have needed the transmission flushed out on it,,this is a thing that is done as a last minute effort to save a dieing transmission,,i don't recommend it to any one who had a good smooth shifting transmission,,this may eventually do some damage to it,,but if it didn't help the jerking,,you need to take it,,and let a good mechanic drive it,,maybe they can get you closer to whats really wrong with it,,good luck,i hope this help,s.

does it do it when shifting? It can be a very long list of problems... anything from a loose battery connection, the fuel pump getting warm and not pumping enough, fuel filter getting clogged (when your car sits overnight the blockage may settle so it doesn't do it until you have run your vehicle a while), transmission or engine mount... is there a check engine light or service engine soon light on? if so, does it come on then go off? stay on? try to give me more information and I'll help as much as I can withought being able to kick the tire, but it's really difficult to diagnose a vehicle run issue without being able to hear/feel/see the problem

Does it jerk only at low speeds? Try it from full stop and give it some hard throttle. Run up through the gears. If it's OK when pressed hard, it may be the pressure regulator in the trans. My 2000 was. Fixed under warranty.

It could be a plug wire breaking down under a load, i have seen this diagnoised as trans related problem many times.spraying soapy water on wires and boot ends somtimes will reveal fire that`s jumping to grd.

if it dose it after it is warm and up to speed (40mph) or above, and will start to jerk when you let off the gas i would think its a tcc solenoid. or Torque Converter Clutch

but i need more info on what it is doing...
