My invention would be something to increase the value of anything human's deal with.
It would essentially modify the brain in such a way it would concentrate more on and appreciate relationships and work for the greater good of society. It would make the brain not value money beyond what's needed for basic survival and good health and leave the mind's dedication, instead, to creation of new inventions and good relationships.

By doing this, you essentially undermine man's needs for things like war and luxury goods. So rather than having less than 10% of the richest of the world's population controlling over 50% of it's resources (and starting wars over riches, often literal wars, complete with armies), people will share the wealth and the peace and concentrate their human skills on improving the quality of life for all humans, and surveying others to find out what they need.

This would solve
1. Wars (extremists in Arab nations, for example, would no longer need to be jealous of American wealth over them and vice-versa we wouldn't feel the need to dump our "supreme culture" onto them...persecution for financial gain and confidence (ala Nazi Germany and the Cambodian Revolution) would also diminish)
2. Global warming (no ego need to, for example, own homes larger than apartments and larger cars...both the houses and large cars burn over twice as much, many times even 3 or 4 if you compare a house in a large city to a travel trailer or efficiency apartment)
3. People would naturally gravitate research toward fields like medicine and energy that would benefit all people
4. Many more people would have happy relationships as they would put more time into them and, coincidentally, many of them would be in better shape for their partners and live longer (with less medical costs)

These are just a few but the point is, the level of human ego (especially with so many Americans' trying to solve personal and even between-country relationship problems with money and war) is the first thing we need to make an invention to "uninvent" so we can focus on more important things that will ultimately make us all happier.

It was never a problem, but when I was fairly little I dreamed of having drinking fountains in the bedroom. Drinking fountains that delivered such goodies as orange soda pop, chocolate milk, and all of that fun stuff.

I guess having chocolate milk mains running under the city streets would be pretty odd.

But dentists in North America are starting to get bored. The teeth are too good, and they can only do cosmetic surgery. Sugar drink fountains in children's bedrooms would solve that "problem".

If I had an invention idea, I wouldn't list it here- people would steal it and make a zillion bucks.....
.. but I do have several.

I would make a back scratcher that didn't just irritate your back more or scrape huge pieces of skin off. It would actually feel good, like a human scratching it.

Fah to world peace and whatnot, I have an itchy back!

It's been invented. A bomb will get rid of everyone's problems.
