Exercise can help with period symptoms and may help to shorten it. But, if you really want a shorter period, than go on the pill or any other type of hormonal birth control. My periods went from 10 days to about 5 days after I started on the pill. Dont be embarassed about taking the pill, either. I know plenty of women who take it to help with their periods, not to prevent them from getting pregnant.

See a doctor (gynaecologist), Birth control pills in different strength, and right phase of the period cycle do wonders, but must be supervised by a doctor, may need blood monitoring.

You shouldn't mess your cycle around to much. Only thing you can do is take the pill on the days when you are bleeding or have depo provera injections & don't have a period at all.
