The Sky room in Long beach.
Or the Beach Cafe if you are more into casual romance (I wanted to get married in this ambiance!)
Enough Said.
Don't be a pansy, but both of these are BEAUTIFUL restaurants.
And trust me a woman enjoys a little romance besides PIZZA and a sofa!

Wearing full a full body camo ghilli suit, I use my hunting knife to gore a feral hog. After removing it's entrails and genitals I dig a large pit.
I fill the pit with hardwood I have harvested from an old growth forest. I fill the feral hog with native berries, fruit and herbs and slow cook it in the pit for many hours.
While the hog roast I find my best Stetson and pick up my gal on my old Palomino Gelding. We ride into the woods to find the fire.
From my old worn saddle bags I pull a bottle of Tequila and some cold beer. We do shooters and drink beer while gorging ourselves on the hardwood roasted hog.
After hours of passionate sex we fall asleep under a canopy of stars by the fire, and rise at dawn to swim and fish in the river. and have more sex.
But we only have sex if we are married! I'm a conservative damnit!

My idea of a romantic dinner would be a dinner at home in a candle lit room accompanied by soft music and a dozen red roses.

That's rather cliched for my taste, to be honest. And, let's be practical - food on the beach is rarely romantic! The sand gets everywhere! I prefer a quiet restaurant with private booths (a view is optional, but nice), awesome food, and great cocktails. A place that allows you to take your time and savor it all. Better yet is room service in a luxurious hotel room. :)

The guy cooks and he's reasonably proficient. The dishes go together well... the wine matches the food... he doesn't really need my help so I just talk to him and watch... he occasionally feeds me a piece of something while he's chopping... then we sit down together, candles or not, music is a nice touch...
If he packed a picnic and we took it to the beach that would be awesome too....
I cook many meals a day and I've cooked a million of them for guys... but only a handful have ever cooked for me. It's romantic because it says "I care about you... and this is all about you."

i planned a romantic supper for my girl friend once. during the day i went out into the woods a few miles and dug a fire pit, and got firewood ready. i carried out some steaks and potatoes and wine in a cooler. i carried out a 10x 10 piece of carpet and laid it on the ground.
i told her to dress up nice that night and as i went to pick her up, i went by the site and lit the fire. i drove her as far into the woods as i could, parked my truck, and carried her the rest of the way(she was hearing heels and hose) to the site.
i cooked the steaks and taters on the fire, and we had a great evening under the stars, talking and laughing. i did not make sexual advances that night, that was not my intention.
at any rate the date cost me about $20. the girl was so taken with it that i later read an essay she wrote on it in the paper (we were in college).
hope this helps,
Possum

My favorite dinner is a revolving one. It all depends on the mood of both involved. It could be as simple as some quick stir fry with sake, or elaborate as pepper seared duck with an orange gastrique, with Penfolds Bin 28 Shiraz. I guess the best answer is the dinner all revolves around the mood of the two people involved!!!

At home, fixed by either partner for the other, maybe their partner's favorite dish, with nice settings, maybe candlelight. No tv, maybe light music in background if at all. Just the two of them sharing each other's company.

I have made a romantic dinner out of ritz crackers and cheese with some wine, and I have made a romantic dinner of rock cornish hen with stuffing and asparagus tips with bearnaise with asti spumanti to drink... so as long as the mood is right, and you are focused on that other person, it's romantic! :)
