Right now just focus on staying healthy (eating right, getting exercise, taking folic acid etc). After he/she is born read to him/her and talk to him/her a lot. Good luck!

Babies can hear you while they are inside of the womb. Speak to your child so that he/she becomes familiar with your voice. This also stimulates brain activity. Babies, too, can sense any emotional problems you are experiencing. Therefore, try to keep a positive attitude. Another thing is that some experts say playing classical music while pregnant helps developing minds. Try putting a classical music CD in a portable cd player; or however you wish to do it--ipod, whatever, and place the headphones on your tummy. Finally, eat right and take lots of folic acid. Folic acid is the best thing in the world for a baby and is what is in most of the prenatal vitamins you'll probably take.

During the pregnancy you can't do much other than take good care of yourself. Eat healthy, Get plenty of exercise and rest.
Talk to your baby.
Please don't put so much pressure on having your baby be smart and brillant......you need to let a child be a child. A push to be smart might make your child anxious and even resistent.

Obviously you have a high IQ yourself, and you have passed that trait on to your future Mensa candidate.
