This is normal, she should be able to sit up sometime around 6 months. remember, all babies are different. my baby will be 6 months on the 20th and he can for the most part sit up by himself, but he still falls over sometimes.

I have 3 children, and they all varied...if I remember right, sitting up was mostly at 6 months of age...I swear it seems it's never going to happen then WHAM..its like "where did that come from!"
Crawling around 8 to 9 months and standing just before a yr.
As I said, many children vary and I am sure your child is going to have you running before you know!..Talk to the Pediatrician as well..they can let you know if things are not how they should be.

As an ex child care worker, babies we're my specialty.
At almost 5 months very few babies will be sitting up unsupported. Sitting with a boppy pillow could be around 6 months. Crawling is around 8-9 months. Walking could be 9-15 months. Talking... you might hear a word around 9 months. Every baby is different as I'm sure you have heard so don't worry.

She'll probably sit up around 6-8 months, pull up to stand at 9-10, walk at about a year. But the main thing to watch for is just this: Is she doing more than she did yesterday? Is she more responsive, more engaged, more active? Then you have nothing to worry about. You may ignore the calendar and enjoy your baby's development.

This is totally normal, between my 3 kids, one sat up at 5 months, one at 6, and one at 7. You just have to sit back and enjoy the ride of motherhood. Stress will only do us in!

Not all children develop their sense of balance as quickly as others. I used a moon shaped pillow or just spent some extra time with the child sitting them up and just getting use to the position.

All babies reach their milestones in their own time, so don't worry, your daughter will sit when she is ready. My daughter is just about 7 months old and just sat up on her own for the first time on Christmas morning. She's still a bit wobbly but is getting better at it all the time. Each child is different, and they all hit those milestones when it's their time to do so. Enjoy her!
