Sometimes upgrading certain components will improve speed, for example, adding more memory - this is the major key to improving speed, and adding a larger capacity hard drive...and if that fails, you'll need a faster processor, which means - "cha-ching"...yes, a new computer...

sometimes good virus software and spy ware removal software will speed it up some but ram or a new computer would do more
