Superficiality is not restricted to gays. You'll find shallowness everywhere.
And thanks for the compliment on my avatar.

Why should I only reply if I have a hot avatar, dont be so silly lol!
Just like heterosexual culture, there can be too much orientation towards physical attraction in homosexuals and lesbians. But, just like heterosexuals, gay 'culture' (male and female) is not purely about physical attractiveness and sex! What point are you trying to make?

Some say being gay is a transient phase, so when you're younger this physical attractiveness issue predominates. But as you grow older and the ageing process takes hold there are two options - stick with your partner or look for a younger model; sadly this happens with straight couples too.
Once you've found your soulmate, stick at it!

"Gay culture" is the epitome of ambiguous. that could refer to the works left to us by the likes of Oscar Wilde (and other queer artists and writers and sculptors and playwrites etc). It could refer to the media that is made for queer people (sometimes by straights, so that gets iffy). It could refer to where we choose to spend our time (which essentially makes it the same as straight culture. Here, you might very well be on to something: our culture as a whole is entirely too wrapped up in youth and beauty). It might be talking about political activism. It might refer to any or all of these things, or some things I've probably left out, so you really can't ask any questions about it.

It is not just about being gay but it applies to all people.
And your requisite for a hot avatar makes you qualify as one of those people who only look at the outside cover than the inside.
It all depends on what you really want, dude.
What makes you happy?

I have a great answer but can't reply because I don't know what an avatar is, much less know if it is hot?

sometimes, with the gym fasination.
but in my experience the only time I've seen people mbraced for how they are (including looks) was at pride. there are bigger women there with small clothes on, girls with shaved heads, trannies, ect.
I've never seen that stuff embraced with str8 ppl

gay is not male nor female, here in our country, example:
My friend is a boy and he is a male but his heart is female.
gay - a happy person.

Um, no.
Of course, I'm comparing it to the equally shallow straight culture.
(And, my avatar IS hot...it's on fire.)

What a dumb thing to say. Why would you assume that all gays are shallow and straights are not? Pathetic.
