Do you agree?

Yahoo answers is a bunch of crock. People like me and many others spend time and research to thoroughly and properly answer questions and they are not picked as the best answer. However someone just blabs out "you might have a virus" and even though the answer has not resolved the askers query it is picked as best answer. That's it all my answers are gonna be simple and stupid from now on.

Well, I add insight to the majority of my answers however, if the question is just plain silly then of course I would answer silly back.

Is that what happens? Yahoo picks them if the asker doesn't? I thought people voted in the absence of an asker vote. At any rate, I know what you mean. I have seen some of the answers that get chosen and think, what the hell? Not that I do any research myself, I am loaded with opinions, lol. But I think in most cases when the asker chooses best answer and it's not necessarily the most realistic or reliable, they are going with someone who answers what they were hoping for or what they were leaning towards in the first place. But please don't stop doing research. Some people truly need help and the fact you are willing to help is a good thing...even if your primary reason is points.

I think, personally, if you are spending time to research the topic and report your findings thouroughly, and your answer is, in fact, the most incisive, you should be chosen as best answer, but just like anything else in life, there are little cliques here, too, trying to hel each others points along and whatnot. I seriously think that if you are not interested in the topic at hand, then you probably shouldn't bother going through the research to find out for someone else who is unable to utilize the vast array of knowledge available on the internet to figure the answer out for themselves. If the topic truely interests you and you feel like researching it, more power to you, you are the one braodening your horizons, you gained the knowledge, and if they don't appreciate that, then screw 'em. I started to just answer in polls and surveys because it requires no research, it is simply your opinion. I hope you don't get too down on it, this really is a fun place if you can get past the b/s.

Sometimes I do type alot if I have a strong opinion. The higher the level of the person asking the question, the moe I will type. I am a level 3, so I'd expect people to respect me and give good answers. You are only a level 1 that just joined about a week ago, so therefore, I do not respect you and I will not type that much.
