I just moved to a new state about 7 months ago. I'm doing good, but still kinda shy about being new. There's a dance coming up at my new school, and i want to go. But im nervous, and i really dont know what to wear. Its formal, but whats formal at an 8th grade dance? My old school was very strict about things like this, and the only dance we had was in dress code. anybody any help?

Ask a teacher what you should wear and other things like that. If you are considering not going, you should definitely go. This is a chance to meet new kids in your town and you could become best friends. If I had this opportunity then I would take it.

Have you met any other kids? An open question I think it'll be a good way to introduce yourself as well. Ask exactly what you have written honey, I don't think you'll have a problem. Gives you an opporutnity to talk and meet some girls you might be able to ask for a dance. Have fun !!!

Just ask your teachers the dress code.Be sure to look like you`re not trying to hard to fit in.And ask a friend which outfit suits you best.She might know the ropes around school.Know "The Populars" and what they`re wearing.Tip: Wear what nobody else is going to wear.Be creative and accessorize!

um.... well in 8th formal is not to dressy but not a to short of a dress but just go and dance try to make friends
