It has been a week since my interview, which went very well. I understand that they have to interview other people within 1 to 2 weeks. I checked online to see if the job posting was still there. It was removed. Does that mean they already hired someone else?

No. Call or go see the person who interviewed you. This helps for various reasons:
1. If the job is still open, the interviewer will notice your initiative and will have a higher chance of remembering you.

2. If the position has been taken, you can politely ask the interviewer if there were something/s that you were lacking (they have the right not to answer you). If your lucky, keep that useful information into future interviews.

3. HR is helpful AFTER you've been hired. They're not useless, I'm just saying you will only get a yes or no answer. After that, you back to step 1 and 2. Also, you can not negotiate your salary with HR. The manager/interviewer take care of that. Basically, the interview has the say so. Good Luck

I'm not sure about interview and job application ethics, but in my opinion, I would call them to find out about the status of your application. But that's what I would do. No point waiting. I think a week and a half is sufficient time to call them if they haven't called you. But then again, some people would wait two weeks. Either way, any longer than two weeks, someone else may have your job. So call them and remind them that you're still there and interested. I think it shows determination. Good Luck!

I would think that either someone was hired, or they don't want any more applicants to apply since they believe they have a pool of suitable candidates from which a decision can be made.

You could call the HR department and ask if a decision has been made about the job.

Good luck!

Give them a call! This happened to me once and I gave HR a call. They said they would call back soon after they did some follow up stuff. A few hours later, they called and offered me the job!!!!!
