I was sold it told it was anole, but it sure does not look like any anole I know of. I did not notice until I put the thing in the tank with the other anoles. I am sort of scared to touch until I know exactly what it is

This appears to be a brown anole. They are a little different than green anoles. I have 4 green anoles. There are different kinds of anoles. So I wouldn't be scared of it. I don't think that it's a fence lizard though. I have had one before and they are kind of spiny all over. I wouldn't worry about it though as long as there is plenty of room because if they are all cramped together then they might fight or if there are mails they will compete for females and food and they are territorial! So I hope this helps.

It's a brown anole, the green anoles are Cuban Knight Anoles. The one you have looks to be an anole, as far as I can tell from the photo. They are popular down here in Florida, I have like a thousand in my yard.

EDIT

it could be a Bahaman Anole. The feet and legs look Anole like. I would have to see it from the side to be certain. It has marking exactly like a house gecko, but the feet are really anole like. From the pic, it looks like you have a proper set up. Just care for it like an anole. These things are everywhere in florida and most residents call all of them geckos. 110% Compatable.

you have nothing to worry about. and BTW, they are NOTHING like tokay geckos. Tokay geckos get huge, eat meat, and have a notorious reputation for being a tad bit on the "i wanna eat your hand" side.

they are, however, very skiddish.

hope that helps!

I can definitely tell you it is not any house gecko or green anole because I sell those frequently. I do not sell brown anoles so can't identify for certain.

Looks like a leopard lizard. Least that is what they were called 30 years ago when my hubby and I had one. They are rather agressive when grown but I will tell you this lizard look emaciated. It needs food!

Try looking up leapard lizards on the net see if you get any that look like your new pet. There are a few kinds if I remember corectly.
