he is 3rd in the league in scoring at 30.3 ppg, 4.5 boards and 6.4 assists per game, 5th in steals at 2 per game, leading the league in 3s and has been lights out the last month...so tell me why he isnt going to start in the allstar game?

well, i've voted for him a couple of times, but the All-star voting is really just a popularity contest. Shaquille O'Neal has played less than a week and he is currently #1 in voting at center. Don't worry though, Arenas will get chosen to represent the East as a backup, and he will probably get a good enough mandate to be able to get more minutes than he got last season. Also, if Caron Butler keeps playin the way hes playin, than he will probably be chosen too. and, if the wizards just keep winning than eddie jordan could end up being the eastern team's coach. so all of that adds up to more minutes for arenas. i've watched every game this season, and he does not take 50 shots per game, and his team isn't horrible, because if the playoffs started today they would have a #2 seed, where the heat wouldn't even be in the playoffs! and he averages 2 steals a game, so he obviously knows a little something about defense

Because he takes 50 shots a game?
I watch a wizards game and laugh at how terrible he is.
A guy considered to be an allstar pointguard that gets like 6 assists per game with over 30 points.
But it's still good he has teammates after all, since we know he can't do anything on defense.
I mean, who can't put up numbers like he does when they have the ball 75% of the time on offense.
See how he plays with "allstars."

Iverson was ahead of him (Arenas was 4th then) and LeBron is in the forward category so those guys have nothing ot do with it
carter gets a lot of votes and always has even though his team stinks kind of like how yao ming gets a lot of votes and undeserved starts
don't worry about it though, arenas will make the team as a reserve and the coaches should correct the mistake by playing him starter minutes

Gilbert Arenas is probably not going to 2007 NBA All-Star Game because many people who vote for the starters in the game are not very up-to-date with NBA news and are not aware that Gilbert is an MVP candidate right now.

He will make the allstar game but will be picked by the coach unless the on line voting changes. He plays in a different market.

Lol. I even have in no way voted for him in my existence. not this 3 hundred and sixty 5 days, not final 3 hundred and sixty 5 days... Gilbert Arenas "Agent 0" has performed "0" video games & yet he's forward in votes over Joe Johnson! Joe Johnson is having an incredible season & yet human beings vote for Arenas. it is stupid.

He is third because he plays for the Washington Wizards. The Wizards have not done a very good job of advertising for him. I can guarantee that if he played for the Heat or Pistons he would be in the top 2.

because the majority of the people that vote in the all star game are people who don't know anything about basketball, they just check names that they've heard. gilbert arenas is so underrated, i'm really not surprised. he really does deserve to be first though.
